On Monday February 11, 2019 President Donald Trump will fly
to El Paso, Texas to do something no president has done in decades. He will
attend a rally that will promote open racists and xenophobia. Mr. Trumps express
purpose for going to El Paso is to spread hate of the Hispanic population. He would drag the American People kicking and screaming back to a time where racism and xenophobia were open and accepted. His
desire is to build a wall that will divide good people from their communities
and their families. A wall will do just
the opposite from promoting peace and diversity alone our southern border. It
will add nothing to the security of the American People.
What it will do is cost the American Taxpayers far too much.
It will harm our ability to help the very same refugees that flee dangers
conditions that have their roots in fighting the drug war. It was our country
that destabilized those South American countries where women and children are
now fleeing.
President Trump has the blood of young innocent children on
his hands. It is his administration that ripped young children from the arms of
the mothers and placed them in cold cages with no care.
Rather than sending help
to process the claims of refugees he has made it more difficult for these
individuals to be process in a timely manner. His military troops have lined
the fencing along the border with razor wire. It has made communities along the
border unsafe for Americans.
The very soul of the American People is at stake with his
visit to the border. We must standup to this man and his red hat wearing
haters. We must show him that we are a people of peace that love diversity in
our communities. We do not judge a person by where they come from or the color
of their skin. We must standby the people who oppose President Trumps hateful
acts toward our neighbors to the south.

SCHEDULE: 5:00 p.m. Meet at Bowie High
School, 801 S San Marcial St. in El Paso 6:00 p.m. Congresswoman
Veronica Escobar and former Congressman Beto O’Rourke, along with more than 45
other community partners, will take to the streets in a unified, peaceful March
for Truth and to celebrate the El Paso community. March to
Chalio Acosta Sports Center, 4321 Delta Dr. in El Paso.
All loving and caring Americans are invited
to join in this march for peace and diversity.
We must thank the Governor of New Mexico,
U.S. Senator Udall, and U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich for providing a clear
example of how our country can help to secure our borders and treat refugees
with humanity. I hope to hear soon that the Democratic Party of New Mexico will
standup strong, denounce this visit to the border and promote this march for
