Is the Democratic Party for Sale at the County Level?
Well, it would appear that there is no state rule preventing
county chair people from taking large sums of money from any and all candidates
during the primaries.
The problem with that is large oil, drug, and other
companies can launder money through candidates to get county parties to support
candidates that share their views.
While a county chairperson is not allowed to publicly
endorse any candidate during the primary season that does not stop lower level
party members from taking their directions from where the money comes from for
their office and supplies. It can help those smaller counties to pay for nice
things but at what cost to the voters?
Big Drug companies are looking for friendly state laws that
would allow them to drop large amounts of addicting drugs into countries with problems.
They are also looking to block the legalization of Marijuana which would
decrease their sales of Opioids.
Now big oil companies have a vested interest in reducing laws that protect the environment. They want to block green energy productions. They want support in fracking for oil and gas. All of these items can be blocked by the governor and state representatives. A well placed candidate can help them to hold back advancement in these areas. Candidates are not above lying to the public in slick advertisements to get elected only to turn around on these issue once in office.
Private prisons have a strong interest in law enforcement that receives funding for putting people in jail. Treatment programs only reduces the jail population and cost them money. So they like tough on crime candidates that have no interest in expanding treatment programs.

County Parties can have a sizeable
impact on the results of any election. The ward and precinct chairs have far
fewer restrictions and even work for local campaigns. They can wear campaign gear
and even canvas as party officials. They can make sure that the campaign lecture
of their candidate is place in key areas of the office while others are not.
The problem with all of this is that voters are disgusted with open tactics to get them to vote for a few chosen candidates. This has been resulting in more wins for the Republican Party because fewer and fewer people are voting. Many voters are opting out rather than holding their noses while they vote for a candidate that they view as little better than the republican candidate.

The state party better get their
act together or the republicans will be holding the offices and may even gain
in a time when democrats should be electing more candidates because of President
Trumps effect on voters.

Sex, Lies, and Politics
What is sexual harassment? harassment (typically of a woman)
in a workplace, or other professional or social situation, involving the making
of unwanted sexual advances or obscene remarks.
In the political arena sex has been a major problem. Men in
politics have the personality traits of outgoing, aggressive, and controlling.
Women in politics also have these same traits. It is nothing new for a woman to
complain about unwanted sexual comments or advances by a candidate. The Republican
Party learned to weaponize this issue to bring down leading candidates years
ago. Never have I seen it done by people in the same party until this campaign season.
I am a citizen journalist. I have been covering female
political topic and events for over ten years now. I strongly believe in covering
issues that matter to women in today’s political world. I admit to being a
Democrat. When I first started blogging there were few women in the field and
we were not well respected because we were women. In all my years covering
events and topics never once has a candidate asked me to bury a story or just
not cover it, because it might hurt their political changes. That is up, until
now.
Deb Haaland, a candidate for Congressional District 1, did
call me and ask me to just let it go. To bury this story and give the women in
question her free five minutes of fame without comment or inspection. I told
her I can’t do that but I would like a formal statement of your side of these
events. To date I have not received one. I felt that her request violated my
first amendment rights as a citizen journalist. I will not be voting for or supporting this
candidate anytime in the future. I told her to stand up and fight these alleged
allegations. This is about more than just losing a few votes.
#metoo movement is not going away anytime in the near
future. It is cleaning house of men in powerful positions who feel they can
behave in grossly inappropriate ways toward women. Washington, DC is ripe with
this problem in the halls of government and we need representatives who will
standup forcibly in defense of women. Powerful men that sexually harass women
are not afraid to threaten women to protect their positions in power. We don’t
need someone who will put their own political goals before the rights of women
or men.

After talking with individuals at the event and reviewing my
own photos I can find no proof that Nicole Bagg ever approached any staffer at
the event on October of 2016. I was personally at the event and was taking
pictures. Since Ms. Bagg was with a group that was causing a disruption in the
meeting I was watching their interaction with the staffers and the chairwomen
very closely just in case they turned violent. I had been alerted by the
presents of police in the hall that something was amiss from the very start
when I walked in. I even approached one of the female staffers and asked her why
police were in the hall and if they were expecting trouble. I spoke with Robert
Lara who was one of the staffers alleged to have prevented Ms. Bagg from
speaking directly with the chairwomen. He states firmly that at no time did Ms.
Bagg attempt to approach him or any other staffer to either formally or
informally report a case of harassment to the party. My photos and other eye
witness accounts support his view of the events.
Why should this matter? Well first of all other women did go
to the next chairperson of the party and report sexual harassment by the
individual Ms. Bagg claims also harassed her. The party chairman resigned
because he failed to appropriately address those complaints. I will not name
those individuals out of respect for the privacy of the victims. I am very disturbed
that Ms. Bagg in her press conference may have giving too much information
about the other victims so as to out them to the public. As a citizen journalist
we try to always respect the privacy of women who make sexually harassment
claims while trying to report the facts of the case.
Next the male staffers of the party should be exonerated of all wrong doing because these types of false allegations can do damage to a person reputation. To not address this issue is as bad as not addressing a complaint of harassment in that it makes victims out of innocent staffers.

Is Chairman of The Democratic Party of New Mexico Anti-Women?
The chairman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico is busy
trying to help Gary King loss his race so that he can run in four years for the
same position. He is busy removing women from chairmanships within the party
that they were elected to in the first place. He is replacing them with men
that hate women.
The party chairman is doing this at a time when he can
attack anyone who stands up to him by claiming that we should all be working
together during an election cycle. The chairman is planting his own male
supporters in key positions within the party so that they can silences any
opponent for the next election. He is also using women who hate other women to
fill positions. These women are hard core attorneys who feel that normal women
are too soft or weak.
I soundly dislike good old boy types that think they can
dismiss women just because of their sex. I have known Gary King for years and
he respects women. He listens to them and hears what they say about their
issues. He is not a man who only cares about the rich in this state. He is our candidate for governor and we support him! The party
chairman is everything and more that Martinez is accusing Gary King of being.
I emailed and facebooked the man that the chairman placed in
Nancy Denker’s position on the platform’s committee the day before yesterday and
even though he has the title of Director of Communication and Rapid Response,
Mr. Harwell has still not returned my request for an answer as to why he would
support a removal of a committee chairwomen without due process.
A number of women within the Democratic Party have expressed
their displeasure privately with the failure on the party chairman’s part to work
with women in good faith on many issues. Equality for women is an important
issue that the women in the party take very seriously. Dismissing request for
answers as to why a long time grassroots female democrat is being mistreated
and bullied is a major concern. Refusing to speak with a blogger just because
she represents the views of women is also very disturbing. Politics is not a
game where women can be excluded.

Democratic Party of New Mexico still not following the State Election Laws
Well this status was written in 1978 but has not been correctly followed by the Democratic Party of New Mexico for as long as I can remember. Now this year it will be enforced by the State Party Chairman to the complete surprise of everyone in the Democratic Party. The rules posted on the state party website had to be changed this year to conform to this state statue which is a law in New Mexico. I feel that this law should be changed during the next legislative session to reflex the practice of the party. Nowhere in the law does it state that only state central committee members for a specific district would appoint a candidate. Although that is how the party worded their changes. This law would allow state central committee members from any district to take part in voting on a district position. As a matter of fact it would require a vote from a majority of the State Central Committee in order to fill the position. This is because no item can be vote on by the State Central Committee unless they have a quote of its members.
New Mexico State Status:
1-8-8. Vacancy on general election ballot; occurring after primary.
A. If after a primary election a vacancy occurs, for any cause, in the list of the nominees of a qualified political party for any public office to be filled in the general election, or a vacancy occurs because of the resignation or death of a person holding a public office not included in the governor's proclamation and which office is required by law to be filled at the next succeeding general election, or a vacancy occurs because a new public office is created and was not included in the governor's proclamation but is capable by law of being filled at the next succeeding general election, the vacancy on the general election ballot may be filled by:
(1) the central committee of the state political party filing the name of its nominee for the office with the proper filing officer when the office is a federal office, state office, district office or multicounty legislative district office; and
(2) the central committee of the county political party filing the name of its nominee for the office with the proper filing officer when the office is a magistrate office, county office or legislative district office where the district is entirely within the boundaries of a single county.
B. Appointments made pursuant to Subsection A of this section shall qualify pursuant to Section 1-8-18 NMSA 1978.
C. Appointments to fill vacancies in the list of a party's nominees shall be made and filed at least fifty-six days prior to the general election.
D. When the name of a nominee is filed as provided in this section, the name shall be placed on the general election ballot as the party's candidate for that office.
Oh, and don't forget people No Proxies by order of the state party chairman.

Democratic Party of New Mexico Leadership
At yesterday monthly meeting of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County, some people were questioning state party leadership when it comes to how Governor Martinez has been treated in respect to inappropriate activities.
Where is the State Democratic Party's leadership on these issues? And exactly what does the governor have to do to get their attention?
The governor has a very high popularity rating despite such problems as:
- Darren White being approved as general manager of the Downs Racino after resigning from the mayor’s office because of questions of involvement with his wife’s traffic accident. White was very involved in lobbying for the Downs to the governor before the contract for the fairgrounds was settled.
- Emails between the governor’s top campaign official about the Downs 25-year contract before the contract was settled. The governor received large campaign contributions from individuals involved with the contract.
- Request from the governors campaign chief of staff to the educational department that resulted in list being prepared that separated Union from Nonunion teachers and provided their email addresses.
- Oversight of the NMFA, which is the state’s bank when it comes to capital projects and the bonds that pay for those projects. Fraud in an audit provided to Wall Street and Investors could cost the state’s taxpayers in lawsuits. The state could also face increased interest rates on future capital outlay projects.
Where is the State Democratic Party's leadership on these issues? And exactly what does the governor have to do to get their attention?
