CNM Community College Fails Green Employment Test and Treats Instructional Support Staff as Second Class Citizens

If you work as an instructional support staff member or as a teacher at Central New Mexico Community College then you must use your own car for business use so forget using the city bus to get to work because once there you cannot use a company vehicle to travel to another campus unless it is during your normal work hours. The administration can use company cars to drive a few blocks but educators cannot use it to prevent the college from canceling a class. The administration makes $100,000 and up salaries while instructional support staff make less then $25,000 so it make perfect since to the administration to prevent them from using company vehicle to earn more income by working late once they are at work. This all encourages a not so green life style just in order to make a living.

Today the public voted for governing board members that make these policies and hire the administration to enforce them. Clearly this college is guilty of green washing and nothing more when it comes to the environment. I was told by one administrator to “not think for myself but to let him think for me.” I informed him that if god had wanted me to let him do the thinking that he would not have given me a brain. He then asked me who was the character in the “Wizard of Oz” who did not have a brain. The poor treatment by the college administration has now leaded the administrators to treat instructional support staff as second class citizens who they can feel free to harass.
