State Senate Bill 444
State Senate Bill 444 is a bill that would prohibit discrimination in paid holidays and accrual of annual leave at public post-secondary educational institutions. Lobbyist for the college will say that discrimination of educational support staff is a good thing during a recession just as long as administration staff continues to receive $100,000 and up salaries. In other words the taxpayers of this state are paying to keep educational administration salaries high while enforcing discrimination against low income instructional higher education staff. Where is the justice in this behavior? I know that I don’t want my taxpayer dollars spent to continue the discrimination I face every day at work. Help make education a priority for our state and end discrimination against higher educational employees earning less than $25,000 a year who are forced every year to take 21 days off without pay.
