State Supreme Court removed Judge Griego for the Bench

The New Mexico State Supreme Court ordered Judge Wayne Griego removed from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court Bench yesterday. The Judicial Standard Commission recommended that Judge Griego be suspended without pay for 90 days and reprimanded for ticket-fixing. Justice Chavez in a statement said that because of Judge Griego’s unwillingness to be forthcoming with the whole truth that the New Mexico State Supreme Count felt the need to remove Judge Griego for the bench immediately and permanently. There is no appeal process for this type of removal. It is clear that the State Supreme Court did what was in the best interest for the court system and the general public here in Bernalillo County. Our State Supreme Court maintains high ethical standards for the judges that control our local court systems both here in Albuquerque and around the state.

High Ethical Standards

The five members of our State Supreme Court are fine examples to ever other politician in New Mexico as to how to conduct themselves in public life. It is a dreadful shame that both Congresswoman Heather Wilson and Sheriff Darren White are unwilling to follow their exceptional examples when conducting an election campaign here in New Mexico. Congresswoman Heather Wilson’s and Sheriff Darren White’s conduct during the last month has been an embarrassment to Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, The State of New Mexico and the U.S. House of Representatives. I think that it is a good thing that our State Supreme Court Justices have to run partisans elections in this state because it gives them an opportunity to set the standard for every other politician in this state as to the public behavior that should be expected of a candidate during a campaign.
