Getting out the Vote

This morning I joined the Obama teams to walk neighborhoods to help get out the last of the voters. The Plumber and Pipefitters hall was filled with eager enthusiastic volunteers. The guest speakers who wished them well were Lt. Governor Diane Denish and soon to be Congressman for congressional district one Martin Heinrich. My best advice is to go vote and then stick a note on the door that you have already voted because those volunteers are not in the mood to give up until they are sure everyone has cast a vote today. Once you vote you will drop off the list of people to contact. The mood is one of restrained hope that by this evening that Senator Barack Obama will be our new president. Remember to call family and friends to encourage them to got out and vote today. No ID is required to vote so don’t let anyone drive you away from the polls today. Some good things to bring are a bottle of water, a good book and a chair if you don’t or can’t be on your feet for very long.
