EUNICE KENNEDY SHRIVER GONE AT THE AGE OF 88

Senator Kennedy’s reaction: “Eunice is now with God in heaven. My sister Jean and I, and our entire family, will miss her with all our hearts. I know that our parents and brothers and sisters who have gone before are filled with joy to have her by their side again.”

Senator Kennedy’s sister was best known for organizing the first Special Olympics in 1968.

Our hearts goes out to the Kennedys at this time of great loss.

Reaction from Ex-Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairman Brian S. Colón

"What a true leader from the heart. She was so dignified in life and will always be remembered fondly in death. I most respect her vision for and tireless work with Special Olympics. Special Olympics provides amazing inspiration for all and its rise to prominence and continued success will always carry her fingerprints."
